22 Things I Learned at 22
This post is a little late, but I’m finally finishing it. I turned 23 on November 10th and thought it would be fun to share a few things I learned this past year. I feel like I’m entering my mid-20s (which feels weird and honestly I’m not a fan), but I also know I’ve grown a lot.
Here are 22 things I learned before turning 23. I hope you relate to at least one or maybe even learn something new.
Matcha lattes are best with whole milk and sweetened with maple syrup.
Avoidance almost never actually solves the problem.
The easy way isn’t always the better way.
My emotions don’t disappear just because I ignore them.
Sugar makes my skin freak out.
Crying is normal, it's our body’s way of speaking.
Hold on to hope, always.
I learned how to make kombucha this year.
A low view of God destroys the Gospel.
Being on my phone doesn’t count as resting.
Spam is delicious… especially in musubi form.
Mosquito bites are based on CO₂, not blood type.
Sweet potatoes > regular potatoes.
Silence actually does speak.
Green foods are superior (matcha, avocado toast, pesto… all of it).
Chicken Salad Chick is severely underrated.
Videos are better than photos for capturing memories.
Being vulnerable is a strength and it is better to learn it now than later in life.
Striving for perfection isn’t the point.
My favorite type of pen to write with is the Livework Point Pen (trust me on this).
I’ve learned to stop taking photos because I know the people around me will.
I can’t carry everything on my own; only Jesus can carry the burdens.
Some of these are silly, but it’s crazy to think about just a few of the things, out of the many, I’ve learned. I hope I continue to be someone who is eager to learn.
Cheers to another year of blessings and growth!
